The Story of MacDiver
Origins and Inspiration
Brieuc Van Damme, a passionate designer and inventor, has dedicated his career since 2017 to developing and industrializing products across various sectors, including sports, precision surgery robots, agriculture, lighting… It was while working on lighting products that he realized the potential of modern LEDs, which led him to imagine diving lights. For over three years, this idea matured, and in parallel, Brieuc developed a diving knife, thinking it would be an easier project to bring to market, although it turned out to be more complex than he had anticipated.
His passion for diving, which he has been practicing for a few years, also played a significant role. Not only does he dive, but he also creates custom parts and performs repairs for his diving friends. By combining his engineering skills and his passion for diving, Brieuc decided to create equipment that perfectly meets his needs and desires.
A Family Adventure
Together with his wife, Brieuc received an introduction to diving as a wedding gift. This gift turned into a real passion when they started taking lessons. Since then, Brieuc has continued to gain new skills and certifications, further fueling his passion for creating products dedicated to divers.

MacDiver’s mission is to produce diving equipment in Europe, thereby reducing the carbon footprint and adopting an eco-friendly approach. Memorable Moments and Challenges
The name MacDiver, which Brieuc has had in mind for at least two years, reflects his spirit and vision. He was finally ready to share it with the world in September 2024, during a week-long diving adventure with his dive club. However, Brieuc is not a natural salesman and had to educate himself and talk to others to understand marketing. He hopes that the quality and innovation of his products will speak for themselves, allowing him to focus fully on development rather than marketing.
